MATERIALS:
Size 5 DMC Pearl Cotton (27 yd skeins) 2 White and 5 Blue, O (zero) hook or hook to obtain gauge, 2 small snaps, sewing needle and invisible (clear) sewing thread.
GAUGE: 7 hdc sts = 1”, 5 hdc rows = 1”, 7 dc sts = 1”, 3 dc rows = 1”, 7 trc sts = 1”, 2 trc rows = 1”
About the yarn I used:
I used Size 5 DMC Pearl Cotton. It comes in 27 yd skeins and found in the same area as embroidery thread.
I wanted something fine in weight (it is thread), but also with a large variety of colors to chose from.
Bernat Handicrafter #5 thread is also a good substitution, just make sure you get the exact gauge as stated in the pattern when you make a sample swatch. If your gauge is bigger than stated, go down one size in your hook. If your sample gauge is smaller than stated, do up one size in your hook.
