Layering
Crochet really isn’t that hard especially if you are just making a series of shapes and then layering them on (sewing) one by one until you get the desired affect.

The Little guy to the right is a good example. You can find the pattern for him here. I call it/him Tiny Penguin. He is just a crochet ball with shapes layered until you get a cute little penguin face.

Here are all the pieces you need to make him. A ball which is his body, a white circle for his tummy, orange triangles for his feet and beak, black triangles for his little wings, half ovals for his eyes, half ball shape for his hat and a long white line for the trim to his hat.
