When you have basted all 9 folded and knotted ribbons (petals), pull the thread to gather the petal together.
Form the petals into a circle (flower) and sew the first and last petal together overlapping slightly. Cut a 9” length of the same ribbon and knot 4-5 times.
Insert this knot through the open center of the flower. Tack knotted center to petals. Overlap the center’s ends on the wrong side of the flower and tack in place.
