First, a bit about the basic motif. I had trouble getting the gauge of 4” diameter for the motif. I pulled the loops out to 1-3/4” just like the instructions said, but no matter what I did my motif shrunk to 2-1/2”. What I ended up doing was to add 2 more chain between the puff stitches. So instead of chain 1 between ea stitch I chained 3 and was able to

get my gauge. I also found that doing this gave me a much flatter motif and made joining much easier. The motif to the left in the picture is what I got without the extra chains and the one to the right is with the extra chains added so it would lay flatter. Both motifs in the picture have the 1-3/4” loops in every puff stitch but when it came to one chain between stitches it just drew the motif up into a much smaller size. In my tutorial I will be adding the extra chains between the stitches.

Rnd 1: Ch-2 work 12 sc in 2nd ch from hook, sl st top beg sc.

Rnd 2: Draw lp on hook out to measure 1-3/4”
