The design sample was made using Bernat Softee Baby yarns and size F crochet hook.
This afghan gets its unique look from the special stitched used to make each heart appear raised off the background. It is done in continuous crochet. (Hearts are not sewn on they are formed as you crochet.) The hearts are made using a raised stitch called Front Post Double Crochet and Back Post Double Crochet. The hearts are set on a background of single crochet which allows the raised stitches on the hearts to pop even more! Afghan also features a crochet ribbon boarder with bows tied at either end.
