Patterns Written In US Terms

Materials: 1 oz or less of White and Black worsted weight yarns, size H crochet hook or hook needed to obtain gauge,  black fabric paint, needle to take yarn, four white buttons, craft glue felt in black, pink and orange.
Gauge: 4 hdc = 1”. 3 rows hdc = 1”
Finished Size: 3” X 4-1\2”

Snowman:
     RND 1: With White and H hook ch-10, hdc 3rd ch from hook, hdc next 6 ch, 3 hdc last ch, turn piece so you are now working across the bottom of the foundation ch (in bottom of sts just made), hdc next 6, 2 hdc last, sl st top beg hdc, ch-1, turn.  (18 sts)
     RND 2: 2 hdc next 2 sts, hdc next 6, 2 hdc next 3, hdc next 6, 2 hdc last st, sl st top beg hdc, ch-1, turn.  (24 sts)
     RND 3-9: Hdc ea st around, sl st top beg hdc, ch-1, turn.
     RND 10  (Hdc dec next 2 sts, hdc next 4 sts) around, join Black, fasten off White, sl st top beg hdc, ch-1, turn.  (20 sts)
     RND 11: Hdc ea st around, sl st top beg hdc, ch-1, turn.
     RND 12: (2 hdc next st, hdc next 3 sts) around, sl st top beg hdc, ch-1, turn.  (25 sts)
     RND 13: (2 hdc next st, hdc next 4 sts) around, sl st top beg hdc, ch-1, turn.  (30 sts)

     RND 14: Hdc ea st around, sl st top beg hdc, fasten off.

Brim for Hat:
     ROW 1: With Black and H hook ch-5, hdc 3rd ch from hook, hdc last ch, ch-1, turn.  (2 sts)
     ROW 2-24: Hdc ea st across, ch-1, turn.  End row 24 fasten off.
     With needle and matching yarn sew brim around Snowman at rnd 10.
