RND 3: Join color B in any sl st st, ch-1, * 4 sc in previous row’s ch-4, sc in top of next 4 sts, 4 sc in next ch-4, sl st in next st, rep from * around, fasten off.
Make a total of 12 flowers: 6 yellow flowers with green trim and 6 green flowers with yellow trim.

BOTTOM WING (MAKE 2):
ROW 1: With color A yarn and I hook ch-8, sc 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 6 ch, turn piece so you are now working across the bottom of the foundation ch, sc in ea ch across, join color b, ch-1, fasten off color A, turn. (14 sts)
ROW 2: Sl st next 3 sts, sc next 2 sts, hdc next st, 2 dc next 2 sts, hdc next st, sc next 2 sts, sl st last 3 sts, fasten off.
TOP WING (MAKE 2):
ROW 1: With color A yarn and I hook ch-6, sc 2nd ch from hook, sc next 4 ch, turn piece so you are now working across the bottom of the foundation ch, sc ea ch across, join color B yarn, ch-1, fasten off color A, turn. (10 sts)
ROW 2: Sc next 2 sts, hdc next st, 2 dc next 4 sts, hdc next st, sc last 2 sts, ch-1, turn. (14 sts)
ROW 3: Sl st next 2 sts, sc next st, hdc next st, dc next st, 2 trc next 4 sts, dc next st, hdc next st, sc next st, sl st last 2 sts, fasten off. (18 sts)
BUTTERFLY BODY:
With color A yarn and I hook ch-9, sc 2nd ch from hook, sc next 7 ch, turn piece so you are now working across the bottom of the foundation ch, sc ea ch across, sl st top beg sc, fasten off. (16 sts)
Make 6 butterflies: 3 yellow with green centers and 3 green with yellow centers.
Randomly place flowers and butterflies on afghan and sew in place.
To sew the butterfly pieces tog, first place bottom wings under the top wings at a slight angle. Sew these in place. Then come back and position the butterfly’s body in the center covering the wing’s inner edges. Sew the body in place.
