MATERIALS: Red Heart Supersaver 4 ply yarn in Baby Pink, 2 skeins Patons Twister yarn in Raspberry Twist, H hook or hook to obtain gauge, 2-3 snaps, needle and thread.
GAUGE: 4 dc = 1”, 2 rows dc = 1”
FINISHED SIZE: 8-1\4” diameter
PURSE (MAKE TWO):
Please note: Work the yarn not in use behind sts as you crochet.
With pink yarn and H hook ch-4, sl st to from a ring.
RND 1: Ch-3, dc in ring, drop pink, join Raspberry yarn, dc in ring, (drop Raspberry, pick up pink, 2 dc in ring, drop pink, pick up raspberry, dc in ring) 5 times, drop raspberry, pick up pink, sl st top beg ch-3, do not turn. (18 sts)
RND 2: Sl st to next dc, ch-3, 2 dc same st as beg ch-3, drop pink, pick up raspberry, dc next 2 sts, * drop raspberry, pick up pink, 3 dc next st, drop pink, pick up raspberry, dc next 2 sts * rep bet ** 5 times, drop raspberry, pick up pink, sl st top beg ch-3, do not turn. (30 sts)
RND 3: Sl st to next dc, ch-3, 2 dc next st, dc next st, drop pink, pick up raspberry, dc next 2 st, * drop raspberry, pick up pink. Dc next st, 2 dc next st, dc next st, drop pink, pick up raspberry, dc next 2 sts * rep bet ** 5 times, drop raspberry, pick up pink, sl st top beg ch-3, do not turn. (36 sts)
RND 4: Sl st to next dc, ch-3, dc same st as ch-3, dc next st, 2 dc next st, dc next st, drop pink, pick up raspberry, 2 dc next st, dc next st, * drop raspberry, pick up ink, (2 dc next st, dc next st) twice, drop pink, pick up raspberry, rep bet () * rep bet ** 5 times, drop raspberry, pick up pink, sl st top beg ch-3, do not turn. (54 sts)
RND 5: Sl st to next dc, ch-3, dc same st as ch-3, dc next st, (2 dc next st, dc next st) twice, drop pink, pick up raspberry, dc next 3 sts, * drop raspberry, pick up pink, (2 dc next st, dc next st) 3 times, drop pink, pick up raspberry, dc next 3 sts * rep bet ** 5 times, drop raspberry, pick up pink, sl st top beg ch-3, do not turn. (72 sts)
RND 6: Sl st next 2 sts, ch-3, dc next 7 sts, drop pink pick up raspberry, dc next 4 sts, * drop raspberry, pick up pink, dc next 8 sts, drop pink, pick up raspberry, dc next 4 sts * rep bet ** 5 times, drop raspberry, pick up pink, sl st top beg ch-3, do not turn.
RND 7: Sl st next 2 sts, ch-3, dc next 6 sts, drop pink, pick up raspberry, dc next 5 sts, (drop raspberry, pick up pink, dc next 7 sts, drop pink, pick up raspberry, dc next 5 sts) 5 times, drop raspberry, pick up pink, sl st top beg ch-3, fasten off all yarns.
STRAP-SIDES:
ROW 1: With raspberry and H hook ch-5, hdc 2 nd ch from hook, hdc next 3 ch, ch-2, turn.
ROW 2: Hdc ea st across, ch-2, turn.
Rep row 2 until yarn is used up.
With needle and matching thread, sew short end tog to make a lg lp. Beg at a raspberry section, sew side around one side of purse stopping at the end of another raspberry section and leaving a pink section, raspberry section and pink section for top of purse. Rep with other purse side. Sew 2-3 snaps at opening.
