Flower Topped Gift Box Free Crochet Pattern

MATERIALS:
Lion Micro Spun yarn in lily white, H hook or hook to obtain gauge, small 2-1\2” diameter box with lid, white craft paint, paint brush, craft glue, 13” of 1” wide white satin ribbon and small crystal or jewel for flower center.
GAUGE: Petal is 1-1\2” long

PETAL:
ROW 1: With white yarn and H hook, ch-5, sc 2nd ch from hook, sc ea ch across, ch-1, turn.  (4 sts)
ROW 2: 2 sc next 2 sts, sc next 2 sts, ch-1, turn.  (6 sts)
ROW 3: 2 sc next 2 sts, sc next 4 sts, ch-1, turn.  (8 sts)
RND 4: Evenly sc ea and row around, sl st top beg sc, fasten off.  (20 sts)
Make seven petals.
Paint the box and lid white, let dry.  Glue 5 of the petals on top of the box lid forming the flower.  Glue the remaining petals inside of this and glue the crystal into its center.  Let dry.
Cut 2 pieces of ribbon 2-3\4” long.  Glue these to the sides of the bottom of the box overlapping the top edge and bottom of the box.
Cut 2 pieces of ribbon 2” long and 2 pieces 1-1\2” long.  Cut a V in end of cut pieces of ribbon.  Glue the longer ribbon beside flower on lid (either side) with the smaller ribbon over it.
