Free Crochet Pattern:
Icicle Santa Ornament!
MATERIALS:
Victory Red South Maid thread, White South Maid thread, Cream South Maid Thread, Crystal Blue J&P Coats thread, Silver\White Metallic J&P Coats thread, size 7 crochet hook, needle large enough to take thread, 2 small buttons, glue, stuffing, red and black permanent markers, ribbon for hanging ornament.
Gauge:  9 sc = 1", 10 sc rows = 1", 9 dc = 1”, 5 dc rows = 1”.
Finished ornament approx. 8 1\2” not including hat.
ORNAMENT:
With cream thread and size 7 hook ch-4, sl st to form a ring.
RND 1: Ch-1, work 10 sc in ring, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.  (10 sts)
RND 2: (2 sc next st, sc next st) around, sl st top beg ch-1, turn.  (15 sts)
RND 3: (2 sc next st, sc next 2 sts) around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.  (20 sts)
RND 4-8: Sc ea st around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.
RND 9: (Sc next 2 sts tog as one in a sc dec) around, sl st top beg, ch-1, turn.  (10 sts)
RND 10-12: Sc ea st around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.  At the end of rnd 12 join white, ch-1, turn, fasten off cream.
RND 13: (2 sc next st) around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.  (20 sts)
RND 14: (2 sc next st, sc next st) around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.  (30 sts)
RND 15-18: Sc ea st around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.
RND 19: (2 sc next st, sc next 4 sts) around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.  (36 sts)
RND 20-30: Sc ea st around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.
RND 31: (Sc dec next 2 sts, sc next 4 sts) around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.  (30 sts)
RND 32: (Sc dec next 2 sts, sc next 7 sts) around, join black, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn, fasten off white.  (27 sts)
RND 33-36: Sc ea st around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.
RND 37: (Sc dec next 2 sts, sc next st) around, join silver\white, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn, fasten off black.  (18 sts)
RND 38-40: Sc ea st around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.
You can split the pattern into 2 sections and have an icicle ornament and a Santa ornament!  Or do it in yarn and get a big icicle to decorate with! Or just do the Santa in yarn and get a doll!
