Free Crochet Pattern Loop Texture Snowman
MATERIALS: 8 ozs Soft White Red Heart 4 ply yarn, Small amounts Royal and Pumpkin 4 ply yarn, 1 chenille stem, 2-3\8” black shank buttons, 4-1\4” black shank buttons, stuffing, needle to take yarn, needle and thread, H hook or hook needed to obtain gauge.
FINISHED SIZE: Stands about 8” tall.
SNOWMAN:
With soft white and H hook ch-4, sl st to form a ring.
RND 1: Ch-1, work 12 hdc in ring, sl st top beg hdc, turn. (12 sts)
RND 2: (sl st next st, ch-6) around ending with sl st top beg sl st, turn.
RND 3: Press lps to back of work, ch-1, (2 hdc next st, hdc next 2 sts) around, sl st top beg hdc, turn. (16 sts)
RND 4: Rep rnd 2.
RND 5: Press lps to back of work, ch-1, (2 hdc next st, hdc next 3 sts) around, sl st top beg hdc, ch-1, turn. (20 sts)
RND 6: Rep rnd 2.
RND 7: Press lps to back of work, ch-1, (2 hdc next st, hdc next 4 sts) around, sl st to beg hdc, turn. (25 sts)
RND 8: Rep rnd 2.
RND 9: Press lps to back of work, ch-1, hdc ea st around, sl st top beg hdc, turn.
RND 10-16: Rep rnd 2-9 alternating and ending with a rnd 2 rep.
RND 17: Press lps to back of work, ch-1, hdc next st, (hdc dec next 2 sts, hdc next 4 sts) around, sl st top beg hdc. (21 sts)
RND 18: Rep rnd 2.
RND 19: Press lps to back of work, ch-1, (Hdc dec next 2 sts, hdc next 5 sts) around, sl st top beg hdc, turn. (18 sts)
RND 20-23: Rep rnd 2 and rnd 9 alternating and ending on a rnd 2 rep.
RND 24: Press lps to back of work, ch-1, (2 hdc next st, hdc next st) around, sl st top beg hdc, turn. (27 sts)
RND 25: Rep rnd 2.
RND 26: Press lps to back of work, ch-1, hdc next st, (2 hdc next st, hdc next st) around, sl st top beg hdc, turn. (40 sts)
RND 27-52: Rep rnd 2 and rnd 9 alternating and this time ending on a rnd 9 rep. At the end of rnd 52 fasten off.
BOTTOM:
With soft white and H hook ch-4, sl st to form a ring.
