Snowman Ornament or Gift Card Holder Free Crochet Pattern
MATERIALS:
Small amount of Red Heart yarn in White, size H crochet hook, needle to take yarn, craft glue, two 20mm wiggle eyes, small amount of felt in two colors, fabric paint in Orange and Black and 3 small jingle bells.
FINISHED SIZE: 3-1\2” X 5-1\2”
Gauge: 4 hdc = 1”, 4 rows hdc = 1-1\2”
HEAD:
With White and H hook ch-3, sl st to form a ring.
RND 1: Ch-1, work 8 hdc in ring, sl st top beg hdc, ch-1, turn. (8 sts)
RND 2-4: (2 hdc next st, hdc next st) around, sl st top beg hdc, ch-1, turn. (12 sts)(18 sts)(27 sts)
RND 5: (2 hdc next st, hdc next 2 sts) around, sl st top beg hdc, ch-1, turn. (36 sts)
ROW 6: Hdc next 6 sts, leave remaining sts unworked, ch-1, turn. (6 sts)
ROW 7: Hdc ea st across, fasten off.
BACKING:
ROW 1: With White and H hook ch-10, hdc 3 rd ch from hook, hdc ea ch across, ch-1, turn. (8 sts)
ROW 2-8: Hdc ea st across, ch-1, turn. End row 8 fasten off.
PUTTING THE GIFT CARD HOLDER TOGETHER:
With needle and yarn sew the backing to the back of the snowman’s head leaving top open to insert card. Using the patterns as a guide cut out hat, hatband and scarf from felt. Glue hatband to hat and 3 bells across the hatband, let dry. Glue wiggle eyes to snowman’s face. With Orange fabric paint draw on a nose. With Black fabric paint draw on the mouth. Let the paint dry completely and then glue on hat and scarf.
