MATERIALS:
Aunt Lydia’s size 10 crochet thread in Frosty Green, size 7 hook, large eye beading needle, 3 oz pkg of sliver lined green Rochelle beads, 48 metal beads, small silver buckle, needle and thread.
GAUGE: Circle is 1-1\2” in diameter, Crochet Bead is 1\2” long
FINISHED SIZE: As written belt is 48” long. Make belt longer by adding circles and bead connections. To make shorter, remove circles and bead connections.
Using lg eye beading needle thread 266 green beads onto crochet thread, remove beading needle.
CIRCLE:
With thread and & hook ch-4, sl st to form a ring.
RND 1: (Sc, slide bead, sc) 8 times, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn. (16 sts)
RND 2: (2 sc next st, sc next st) around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn. (24 sts)
RND 3: (Sc next st, slide bead, sc next st) around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.
RND 4: Rep rnd 2. (36 sts)
RND 5: Rep rnd 3.
RND 6: Sc ea st around, sl st top beg sc, fasten off.
-Make 7. Using lg eye beading needle thread 144 green beads onto crochet thread, remove beading needle.
BEAD:
With thread and 7 hook ch-4, sl st to form a ring.
RND 1: Ch-1, work 16 sc in ring, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn. (16 sts)
RND 2-4: Sc ea st around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.
RND 5: (Sc next st, slide bead, sc next st) 8 times, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.
RND 6-7: Sc ea st around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.
RND 8-9: (Sk next st, sc next st) around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn. End rnd 9 fasten off. (8 sts)(4 sts)
-Make 18.
PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER:
There are 2 rows of beading bet ea circle.
FIRST ROW: Find center st on edge of one circle, with crochet thread on lg eye beading needle knot or join that st, thread on: metal bead, 20 green beads, metal bead, crochet bead, metal bead, 20 green beads and metal bead. Sew or knot onto center side st of next circle. Repeat until all circles are used.
SECOND ROW: This row is worked joining same st as previous row is joined, thread on: 5 green beads, metal bead, crochet bead, metal bead, 22 green beads, metal bead, crochet bead, metal bead, 5 green beads. Sew or knot onto same st next circle. Repeat across. With needle and thread sew buckle to side of each end circle.
