Use in a necklace.
MATERIALS:
Size 5 DMC Pearl Cotton Thread in Black and Red, needle to take DMC thread and size O (zero) crochet hook.
 FINISHED SIZE: 3\4”

LADY BUG BODY:
RND 1: With black thread and O hook ch-6, hdc 3rd ch from hook, hdc next 2 ch, 2 hdc last ch, turn piece so you are now working across the bottom of the foundation ch, (in bottom of sts just made) hdc ea ch across, sl st top beg hdc, ch-1, turn.  (8 sts)
RND 2: 2 Hdc next st, hdc next 2, 2 hdc next 2, hdc next 2, 2 hdc last st, sl st top beg hdc, ch-1, turn.  (12 sts)
RND 3: Sc ea st around, sl st top beg sc, fasten off.

WING:
RND 1: With red thread and O hook ch-4, sc 2nd ch from hook, sc next ch, 2 sc last ch, turn piece so you are now working across the bottom of the foundation ch (in bottom of sts just made), sc across, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn. (6 st)
RND 2: 2 sc next st, sc next st, 2 sc next 2 sts, sc next st, 2 sc last st, sl st top beg sc, fasten off.  (10 sts)

PUTTING IT TOGETHER:
Make 2 wings.  With needle and thread sew wings to top back of body.  With black thread make 3 French-knots on ea wing.  Sew or glue (using a no-sew glue) to hat, shirt, purse, etc you would like to decorate.  They would even make nice beads for a bracelet or necklace.
