Patterns Written in US Terms

MATERIALS:
Bernat Baby Coordinates in Iced Mint, Lemon Custard and Soft Mauve, Size F hook or hook to obtain gauge, needle to take yarn and some potpourri of your choice.
Gauge:  (sc|shell) twice = 1”, 3 rows = 1”  
FINISHED SIZE: Basket is 5” wide at top, 2-1\2” wide at bottom and 4” tall.

BASKET:
ROW 1: With Iced Mint and F hook ch-14, sc 2nd ch from hook, sc ea ch across, ch-1, turn.  (13 sts)
ROW 2: (Sc next st, sk 2 sts, 5 dc-shell made next st, sk 2 sts) twice, sc last st, ch-3, turn.
ROW 3: 2 Dc 1st st, sc 3rd dc, 5 dc next sc, sc 3rd dc, 3 dc last sc, ch-1, turn.
ROW 4: Sc 1st dc, 5 dc next sc, sc 3rd dc, 5 dc next sc, sc last st, ch-3, turn.
ROW 5: Rep row 3.
ROW 6: Rep row 4.
ROW 7: 2 dc 1st st, sc 1st dc, sk next dc, 5 dc next dc, sk next dc, sc next dc, 5 dc next sc, sk next dc, sc next dc, 5 dc next dc, sc next dc, 3 dc last sc, ch-1, turn.
ROW 8: Sc 1st dc, (5 dc next sc, sc 3rd dc) across ending with sc in last st, ch-3, turn.
ROW 9: 2 dc 1st st, (sc 3rd dc, 5 dc next sc) 3 times, sc 3rd dc, 3 dc last st, ch-1, turn.
ROW 10: Rep row 8.  Fasten off. -Make 2.  Sew sides and bottom of basket tog with yarn.

HANDLE:
With Iced Mint and F hook ch-3, sl st to form a ring,
RND 1: Ch-1, work 6 sc in ring, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.
RND 2:  Sc ea st around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.
Rep rnd 2 until handle is 13” long.  Sew ends of handle inside top of basket.

FLOWERS:
With custard and F hook ch-3, sl st to form a ring.
RND 1: Ch-1, work 8 sc in ring, join mauve, sl st top beg sc, fasten off custard, do not turn.
RND 2: (5 trc next st, sl st next st) around, fasten off.
-Make 2.  Make two with Rnd 1 mauve and Rnd 2 custard.  Sew to top of basket.
