Inside-Out Pumpkin Into a Bat Free Crochet Pattern
MATERIALS FOR PUMPKIN: 4 ply yarn in Sea Coral, Kelly Green, Black, Gray and Green ,felt, size G hook, needle to take yarn, craft glue.
SIZE: Approx. 3" tall when finished.
PUMPKIN:
With Sea Coral and G hook ch-4, sl st to form a ring.
RND 1: Ch-1, 6 sc in ring, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn. (6 sts)
RND 2: (Sc next st, 2 sc next st) around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn. (9 sts)
RND 3: 2 sc ea st around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn. (18 sts)
RND 4: Rep rnd 2. (27 sts)
ROW 5-13: Sc ea st across, ch-1, turn.
RND 14: Sc ea st across, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.
RND 15: (Sc next st, sc next 2 sts tog as one--sc dec made) around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn. (18 sts)
RND 16: Sc ea st around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.
RND 17-18: Rep rnd 15. At the end of rnd 18, join Kelly Green, fasten off Sea Coral, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn (12 sts)(8 sts)
RND 19: (Sc dec next 2 sts, sc next 2 sts) twice, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn. (6 sts)
RND 20: Rep rnd 16.
RND 21: Fold stem in half, sl st through both thickness across to close, fasten off.
BAT
Rep rnd 1–18 of pumpkin using gray yarn.
RND 19: (sc dec next 2 sts) 4 times, sl st top beg sc, fasten off. (4 sts)
WINGS (MAKE 2):
ROW 1: With black yarn and G hook ch-14, sc in 2 nd ch from hook, sc next 4 ch, 3 sc next ch, sc next 7 ch, ch-1, turn. (16 sts)
ROW 2: Sk 1st st, working in back lps now, sc next 7 sts, 3 sc next st, sc next 5 sts, leave last st unworked, ch-1, turn. (15 sts)
RND 3: Sc next 6 sts, 3 sc next st, sc across, turn piece, sc in end of ea row across, now working across bottom of beg foundation row: sc next 5 sts, sk next 2 sts, sc next 5 sts, turn and work sc in end of ea row, sl st top beg sc, fasten off. (27 sts)
FINISHING: Sew wings to bat at the sides. Cut out eyes, mouth and teeth from felt and glue to bat’s face. When dry, turn inside-out and place inside right side out pumpkin matching tops and bottoms, sew tog
