STRAP-GUSSET:
Row 1: With mauve and H hook ch-3, hdc 2nd ch from hook, hdc next ch, ch-1, turn.  (2 sts)
ROW 2-56: Hdc ea st across, ch-1, turn.
ROW 57: 2 hdc next st, hdc next st, ch-1, turn.  (3 sts)
ROW 58-59: Hdc ea st across, ch-1, turn.
ROW 60: 2 hdc next st, hdc ea st across, ch-1, turn.  (4 sts)
ROW 61-62: Hdc ea st across, ch-1, turn.
ROW 63-64:  Rep row 60.  (5 sts)(6 sts)
ROW 65: Hdc ea st across, ch-1, turn.
ROW 66-67: Rep row 60.  (7 sts)(8 sts)
ROW 68-74: Rep row 65.
ROW 75-76: Hdc dec next 2 sts, hdc ea st across, ch-1, turn.  (7 sts)(6 sts)
ROW 77: Rep row 65.

 ROW 86-90: Rep row 65.  end row 90 fasten off.
    With needle and yarn sew short ends tog to form a lg lp.  Beg at row 57 of gusset and sew around outer edge of purse front with the wider portion of the gusset being sewn to the rounded part of the purse front.  Do the same with the back of the purse leaving the purse flap free.
   With needle and thread sew a snap to flap and front of purse.  Center the ribbon block onto the flap and sew to secure.
