Rose Wedding Applique Free Crochet Pattern

MATERIALS:
Size 10 Crochet Thread in white and size 7 crochet hook.
FINISHED SIZE:  Rose: 1”, Backing: 2-1\2” X 3-1\4”.

BACKING:
RND 1: With 7 hook and white thread, * ch-18, trc 10th ch from hook *, rep bet ** once more, sl st 1st ch beg ch-18, do not turn.
RND 2: Sl st to ch-8 lp, ch-1, work 8 sc, [* (ch-4, sl st 1st ch for picot *, rep bet ** total 3 times) rep bet () 3 times, sl st in last sc made to form picot cluster], 8 sc same lp, work 6 sc next lp, rep bet [], work 6 sc same lp, work 8 sc next lp, rep bet [], work 8 sc same lp, work 6 sc next lp, rep bet [], work 6 sc same lp, sl st top beg sc, fasten off.

ROSE:
ROW 1: With 7 hook and white thread ch-32, sc 6th ch from hook, (ch-3, sk next ch, sc next ch) across, ch-1, turn.  (14 lps made)
ROW 2: (Sc, hdc, 3 dc, hdc, sc) 1st lp, )sc, hdc, 4 dc, hdc, sc) in ea next 3 lps, (sc, hdc, 5 dc, hdc, sc) in ea of next 4 lps, (sc, hdc, 6 dc, hdc, sc) in ea of next 3 lps, (sc, hdc, 7 dc, hdc, sc) in ea of last 3 lps, fasten off.
Beg with 1st petal beg rolling until rose is formed, tack with needle and thread.  Either sew or glue rose to center circle on decorative center just made.  You can either leave picots plain or add a pearl bead or crystal in ea center.  The finished appliqué looks good either laid horizontally or vertically.  They look nice as a center motif on a bodice or sleeve or as a line of decorations along the entire hem of the garment.
