Woven Afghan Free Crochet Pattern

MATERIALS: 4 ea color Lion Brand Thick & Quick Chenille yarn in Antique White, Chocolate and Champagne, K hook or hook to obtain gauge, sewing needle and invisible (clear) sewing thread.
GAUGE: 3 sc = 1”, Sewn strip block is 6” X 6”, Block with edging is 7-1\2” X 7-1\2”
FINISHED SIZE: 34” X 53”

STRIP:
With K hook & yarn ch-16, sc 2nd ch from hook, sc ea ch, fasten off (15 sts)
-make 32 strips in ea color.

PUTTING THEM TOG:
For ea woven block you need 4 strips of ea color.  On a flat surface lay one white, then champagne and then a chocolate strip.  Repeat this color sequence.  Take the remaining strips (2 of ea color) and keeping the same color sequence, weave over and under the first strips.  With needle and invisible thread, tack the strips tog.
-make 8 of these blocks.

BLOCK EDGING:
RND 1: With white and K hook join in any st outer edge of woven block, ch-1, sc same st as ch-1, evenly sc around edge of block working (sc, ch-1, sc) in ea corner, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.
RND 2: Sc ea st around working (sc, ch-2, sc) in ea ch-2 sp, sl st top beg sc, fasten off.
With needle and invisible thread sew blocks tog in 4 rows of 2 blocks ea and then sew the rows tog.

AFGHAN EDGING:
RND 1: With white and K hook join in any st, ch-1, sc same st as ch-1, sc ea st around working (sc, ch-2, sc) in ea corner, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.
RND 2: Sc ea st around, working (sc, ch-2, sc) in ea ch-2 sp, join champagne, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn, fasten off while.
