Patterns Written in US Terms

MATERIALS:

Size 10 crochet thread in Light Blue, Three 27 yd skeins DMC size 5 Metallic Pearl Cotton in Gold, size 7 hook and needle to take crochet thread.
FINISHED SIZE:  21” long
BUTTON:
With Gold and 7 hook ch-3, sl st to form a ring.
RND 1: Ch-1, work 10 hdc in ring, sl st top beg hdc, ch-1, turn. (10 sts)
RND 2: Hdc ea st around, sl st top beg hdc, ch-1, turn.
RND 3: (Hdc dec next 2 sts) around, join Light Blue, fasten off Gold, sl st top beg hdc, ch-1, turn.  (5 sts)
RND 4-5: 2 Hdc ea st around, sl st top beg hdc, ch-1, turn.  (10 sts)(20 sts)
RND 6: (2 hdc next st, hdc next st) around, sl st top beg hdc, fasten off.  (30 sts)
-make 24.
With needle and Light Blue crochet thread sew the buttons tog over lapping slightly.
FASTENER:
Leaving long tails with Gold and 7 hook join in center outer edge last button, ch-12, sl st sa st as join, fasten off.  Knot ends for added strength, trim ends.  Necklace fastens by placing loops just made over gold center in last button on necklace.
