Patterns Written in US Terms

MATERIALS: Lion Brand Suede yarn: 1 skein Teal, 1 skein Sage, 2 skeins Olive, 3 skeins Scarlet and 5 skeins Ecru, 1 skein Lion Brand Glitterspun yarn in Gold, H crochet hook or hook needed to obtain gauge, needle to take glitterspun yarn, stuffing and needle and sewing thread.
FINISHED SIZE:  Pillow is 12” square, Rug is 22” X 34”  
 Gauge:  3 sc = 1”, 3 rows sc = 1”
PILLOW FRONT AND BACK (MAKE 2):
ROW 1:  With Scarlet yarn and H hook ch-34, sc 2nd ch from hook, sc ea ch across, ch-1, turn.  (33 sts)
ROW 2: Sc ea st across, ch-1, turn.
ROW 3: Sc ea st across, join Ecru yarn, ch-1, turn, fasten off Scarlet.
ROW 4-8: Rep row 2.
ROW 9: Sc ea st across, join Scarlet yarn, ch-1, turn, fasten off Ecru.
ROW 10-11: Rep row 2.
Rep row 3-11 3 more times.
LAST ROW: Sc ea st across, fasten off scarlet.
TRIANGLE EDGING:
Work along outer edge of front only.  Triangle color sequence is: Teal, Olive, Scarlet, Sage and Ecru.
FIRST TRIANGLE:
ROW 1: With teal and H hook join rt side facing in last st of last row of pillow, ch-1, sc same st as ch-1, sc next 2 sts, leave remaining sts unworked, ch-1, turn.  (3 sts)
ROW 2: Sk 1st st, sc next 2 sts, ch-1, turn.  (2 sts)
ROW 3: Sk 1st st, sc next st, fasten off.  (1 st)
NEXT TRIANGLE:
ROW 1: Join next color in sequence in next st\row after last triangle was worked, ch-1, sc same st as ch-1, sc next 2 sts, leave remaining sts unworked, ch-1, turn.  (3 sts)
ROW 2-3: Rep as for 1st triangle.
With needle and glitterspun yarn, work a buttonhole st around the outer edge(triangles) of front pillow.  Along the large Ecru stripes work a diagonal st across the center 2 rows.
TREE TOP:
ROW 1: With Olive and H hook ch-2, work sc 2nd ch from hook, ch-1, turn.  (1 st)
