MATERIALS:  Two 150 yd balls size 10 crochet thread in White and 1 in Black, size E & 7 crochet hook or hook to obtain gauge, needle to take crochet thread, 3 small snaps, 20” of 1\8” wide black ribbon, sewing needle and sewing thread.
GAUGE: E hook: 12 sc-dc combination sts = 2”, 6 rows pattern = 1”. 7 Hook: flower is 1”.
FINISHED SIZE: Will fit 18” American Girl doll or look alike doll.
DRESS:
ROW 1: With White and F hook ch-65, sc 2nd ch from hook, (dc next ch, sc next ch) across to last ch, dc last ch, ch-1, turn.  (64 sts)
ROW 2-6: (Sc next st, dc next st) across, ch-1, turn.
ROW 7: (Sc next st, dc next st) 8 times, * (sc, dc) next 2 sts, (sc next st, dc next st) 7 times, * rep bet ** 3 times, ch-1, turn.  (70 sts)
ROW 8-12: (Sc next st, dc next st) across, ch-1, turn.
ROW 13: (Sc next st, dc next st) 7 times, * (sc, dc) next 2 sts, (sc next st, dc next st) 6 times, * rep bet ** 4 times, ch-1, turn.  (78 sts)
ROW 14: (Sc next st, dc next st) across, ch-1, turn.
ROW 15: (Sc next st, dc next st) 3 times, * (sc, dc) next 2 sts, (sc next st, dc next st) 3 times, * rep bet ** 9 times, ch-1, turn.  (96 sts)
ROW 16-19: Rep row 14.
RND 20: Overlap 1st 2 sts with last 2 sts of rnd, work sc through both thickness’ then dc through both thickness’ next st, (sc next st, dc next st) around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.  (94 sts)
RND 21-65: (Sc next dc, dc next st) around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.  End rnd 65 fasten off.
DRESS TOP:
ROW 1: With White and E hook join in bottom 1st st row 1 of dress, ch-1, sc same st as beg ch-1, dc next, (sc next, dc next) 7 times, leave remaining sts unworked, ch-1, turn.  (16 sts)
