-Make 8 diamonds for ea side of pillow.
With yarn and matching color sew ea diamond tog starting at the point and sewing to end row 5.  Rep sewing until both the back and front are completed.
For blue star pillow I used: Soft Navy, Royal, Shaded Dark and Country Blue.  After the back and front are made sew both sections tog stuffing points as you sew.  Next take a double length of claret yarn and thread onto the needle.  Pull yarn through at the center, go over seam of section and back through the center the other side of the pillow.  Rep this until all sections are outlined then knot off yarn.
For the red, white & blue pillow I used: Soft Navy, Soft White, Claret and Cornmeal.  Sew diamonds tog making a front and back of pillow.
SIDE:
ROW 1: With navy and H hook ch-5, hdc 2nd ch from hook, hdc ea ch across, ch-1, turn.  (3 sts)
ROW 2: Hdc ea st across, ch-1, turn.
Rep row 2 until piece fits around outer edge of pillow.  Sew short ends tog to form a lp.  Sew around ea pillow section stuffing as you sew.
