ROW 2-28: Hdc ea st across, ch-1, turn. End row 28 fasten off.
Sew around neck of dog.
BOW TIE:
ROW 1: With Blue thread and 7 hook ch-10, hdc 3 rd ch from hook, hdc ea ch across, ch-1, turn. (8 sts)
ROW 2-11: Hdc ea st across, ch-1, turn. End row 11 fasten off.
Gather center of tie tightly to form the bow tie. Sew tie to center front neck of dog.
TOP OF SOMBRERO:
With Blue thread and 7 hook ch-3, sl st to form a ring.
RND 1: Ch-1, work 8 hdc in ring, sl st top beg hdc, ch-1, turn. (8 sts)
RND 2: Hdc ea st around, sl st top beg hdc, ch-1, turn.
RND 3: (2 hdc next st, hdc next st) around, sl st top beg hdc, ch-1, turn. (12 sts)
RND 4: Rep rnd 2.
RND 5: Rep rnd 3. (18 sts)
RND 6: Rep rnd 2.
RND 7: Rep rnd 3. (27 sts)
RND 8: Rep rnd 2.
RND 9: (2 hdc next st, hdc next 2 sts) around, sl st top beg hdc, ch-1, turn. (36 sts)
RND 10: Rep rnd 2, fasten off.
BOTTOM FOR TOP OF SOMBRERO:
With Blue thread and 7 hook ch-3, sl st to form a ring.
RND 1: Ch-1, work 8 hdc in ring, sl st top beg hdc, ch-1, turn. (8 sts)
RND 2-4: (2 hdc next st, hdc next st) around, sl st top beg hdc, ch-1, turn. (12 sts)(18 sts)(27 sts)
RND 5: (2 hdc next st, hdc next 2 sts) around, sl st top beg hdc, fasten off.
Stuff top of sombrero and sew bottom to it. Open heart shaped spring so that it forms a circle. Tie ea end spring tog so it will stay. You sill need to do that twice. Turn the spring so that the small curve of the heart forms the bottom and the larger curve the top, glue finished hat top to center of larger curve (top) of spring hat.
Sew around neck of dog.
