SWORD;
BLADE: With white\silver and size 7 hook ch-37, hdc 2nd ch from hook, hdc next 34 ch, 3 hdc next ch, turn so you are now working the bottom of the foundation ch, hdc ea ch across, fasten off and set aside.  (73 sts)
HANDLE;
RND 1: With ecru\gold and size 7 hook ch-5, sl st to form a ring, ch-1, 10 sc in ring, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.  (10 sts)
RND 2: (Sc next st, 2 sc next st) around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.  (15 sts)
RND 3-4: Sc ea st around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.
RND 5: Sc dec next 2 sts around to last st, sc, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.  (8 sts)  Stuff lightly.
RND 6-14: Sc ea st around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.  At the end or rnd 14 do not ch-1, ch-4, counting ch-4 as 1st trc in a 5 trc cl st, trc cl same st as beg ch-4, ch-1, fasten off.  Count over 3 sts, join in 4th st and rep 5 st trc cl beginning with ch-4, then ch-1 and fasten off.  Stuff handle lightly.
To make a hand hold for the knight join ecru\gold in any st rnd 6, ch-9, sl st corresponding st of rnd 14, fasten off.
Sew blade to top (or open end) of handle between the two trc cl sts.  Stiffen with fabric stiffener making sure knight's hand hold remains free.  Let dry.
BELT:
ROW 1: With black thread and size 7 hook ch-5, sc 2nd ch from hook, sc ea ch across, ch-1, turn.  (4 sts)
ROW 2: Sc ea st across, ch-1, turn.
Rep row 2 until belt fits around knight's waist, fasten off.  Sew or glue one snap at end of belt.  When placing belt on the knight the snap should rest on one of his sides.
SLASH TO HOLD SWORD:
Rep rows 1 and 2 of belt until 10  rows of sash are made, fasten off.  Sew or glue to front of belt to hold sword.
HOOD:
RND 1: With white\silver and size 7 hook, ch-5, sl st to form a ring, ch-1, 12 sc in ring, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.  (12 sts)
RND 2-3: (Sc next st, 2 sc next st) around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.  End rnd 3-27 sts
RND 4: (Sc next 2 sts, 2 sc next) around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.  (36 sts)
RND 5-12: Sc ea st around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.  At the end of rnd 12 fasten off.
ROW 13: Count over 12 sts from join in rnd 12, join next st, ch-1, sc same st as ch-1, sc next 25 sts, ch-1, turn, leaving the rest of the sts unworked.  You are now working in rows.
ROW 14-20: Sc ea st across, ch-1, turn.
ROW 21: Sc next 12 sts, sc dec next 2, sc next 12, ch-1, turn.  (25 sts)
ROW 22-23: Sc ea st across, ch-1, turn.
ROW 24: Sc ea st across, ch-9, turn.  (34 sts + ch)
ROW 25: Sc 2nd ch from hook, sc ea ch and st across, ch-1, turn.  (33 sts)
ROW 26-28: Sc ea st across, ch-1, turn.  At the end of row 28 fasten off.
Sew or glue one snap to chin strap of hood.
