HALTER EDGING:
With yarn and hook join in any st along edge, evenly sc around working 3 sc in ea corner, sl st top beg sc, fasten off.
STRAP:
ROW 1: With yarn and hook ch-8, hdc 3rd ch from hook, hdc ea ch across, ch-1, turn.  (6 sts)
ROW 2-3: Hdc ea st across, ch-1, turn.
ROW 4: Hdc next 2 sts, leave remaining sts unworked, ch-1, turn.  (2 sts)
ROW 5-85: Hdc ea st across, ch-1, turn.  End row 85 fasten off.
ROW 86: With yarn and hook join in next free st end row 4, ch-1, hdc same st as beg ch-1, hdc next st, leave remaining sts unworked, ch-1, turn.  (2 sts)
ROW 87-168: Hdc ea st across, ch-1, turn.  End row 168 fasten off.
ROW 169: With yarn and hook join next free st end row 86, ch-1, hdc same st as beg ch-1, hdc last st, ch-1, turn.  (2 sts)
ROW 170-250: Hdc ea st across, ch-1, turn.  End row 250 fasten off.
Braid three sections tog.
STRAP END:
ROW 1: With yarn and hook and holding ends of braided strap tog, join end st, ch-1, hdc same st as beg ch-1, hdc next st, hdc next 2 sts on 2nd section that makes up the braid, hdc last 2 sts on last section that makes up the braid so you have connected all three into one continuous line, ch-1, turn.  (6 sts)
ROW 2-4: Hdc ea st across, ch-1, turn.  End row 4 fasten off.
-make 2.  sew ea strap to top of halter, cross straps in back and sew along halter’s back, measuring placement on.
JACKET FOR HALTER
ROW 1: With yarn and H hook ch-251, sc 2nd ch from hook, sc ea ch across, ch-1, turn.  (250 sts)
ROW 2: Sc 1st st, ch-3, sc same st, (ch-7, sk 4 sts, sc next st, ch-3, sc again in same st) across, turn.  (50 ch-7 lps made)
ROW 3:  (Ch-7, sc 3rd ch of next ch-7 lp, ch-3, sc same lp) across, turn.
ROW 4-31: Rep row 3.
ROW 32: (Ch-7, sc 3rd ch of next ch-7 lp, ch-3, sc same lp) 11 times, leave remaining lps unworked, turn.
ROW 33: (Ch-7, sc 3rd ch of next ch-7 lp, ch-3, sc same lp) 10 times, leave remaining lps unworked, turn.
