SMALL CIRCLE:
Rep rnd 1-5 of lg circle, fasten off.
-make 2 of sunshine and soft lime. Make 1 of Sweet pea. Make 3 of Soft violet (one of which will be used as the base of the hat.)
BEADS (MAKE 3):
With H and carnation ch-4, sl st to form a ring.
RND 1: Ch-1, work 8 sc in ring, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn. (8 sts)
RND 2-5: Sc ea st around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.
Stuff.
RND 6: (Sk next st, sc next st) around, sl st top beg sc, fasten off. (4 sts)
TAIL:
With carnation rep rnd 1-2 of head.
RND 3: Sc ea st around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.
RND 4: (Sk next st, sc next 2 sts) around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn. (8 sts)
RND 5-7: Rep rnd 3.
RND 8: (Sk next st, sc next st) around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.
Stuff.
RND 9: Rep rnd 8. Fasten off.
HAT:
With soft violet rep 1-2 of head, fasten off. –make 2.
With Soft violet rep 1-3 of head, fasten off. –make 2.
PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER:
Embroider the face for the rattle-pillar. (It is easier to do without the body attached.) With needle and yarn sew tog the 2 smallest circles for the hat at-around rnd 1. Sew these to the next biggest and then to the 2nd of the pair. Lastly, sew these 4 circles to the soft violet small circle for body. Sew to head. Cut a 24” piece of pink ribbon and securely sew across the top of the hat and around the rattle-pillar’s head. Tie in a bow. Cut 8 pieces of ribbon 2” long. Fold ea in half and sew tog at the ends in a circle. Cut 8-1\2” of ribbon fold in half and sew to the center of the ribbon lp circle, trim ends. Sew to the top of the hat.
Sew tog (at\around rnd 1 of ea circle) sunshine, soft violet, white, carnation, sweet pea and soft lime of large circle. Sew one bead to center to last lg circle. Sew medium circle of sunshine to bead, then sew soft violet, carnation, sweet pea and soft lime to this. Rep with bead, then continue with sunshine, soft violet, sweet pea and soft lime of small circle. Rep with bead, then sew on sunshine, soft violet and soft lime. Lastly, sew on the tail. Cut 8 pieces of ribbon 2” long. Fold ea in half and sew tog at the ends in a circle. With remaining ribbon tie a small bow and sew in the center of this ribbon circle. Sew this to the end of the rattle-pillar’s tail.
