Patterns Written in US Terms
ROW 2: 2 sc 1st st, sc last st, ch-1, turn.  (3 sts)
ROW 3-6: Sc ea st across, ch-1, turn.
ROW 7: Sk next st, sc next 2 sts, ch-1, turn.  (2 sts)
ROW 8: Sk next st, sc next st, ch-1, fasten off.  (1 st)
Putting The Snowman Together:
    With needle and thread sew the head to the body.  Sew one arm to ea side of body.  Flatten base slightly and sew rnd 4 of base to bottom of snowman.  Snowman should be able to stand on his own at this point.  Make a carrot nose out of the pumpkin clay and bake as directed.  Let cool.  With needle and thread sew hat to head.  Glue nose to center of face.  Using black fabric paint draw on the eyes and mouth, last dot ea eye with gray fabric paint.
Mr. Snowman’s Hat:
With Homespun Black and J hook ch-3, sl st to form a ring.
RND 1: Ch-1, work 8 sc in ring, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.  (10 sts)
RND 2-3: Sc ea st around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.
RND 4: Work 2 sc in ea st around, sl st top beg sc, fasten off.  (16 sts)
Sew hat to top of Mr. Snowman’s head.
Mr.. Snowman’s Scarf:
ROW 1: With Homespun Country and J hook ch-3, sc 2nd ch from hook, sc next ch, ch-1, turn.  (2 sts)
ROW 2-33: Sc ea st across, ch-1, turn.  End row 33 fasten off.
Wrap around Mr. Snowman’s neck and tack to hold.
Mrs. Snowman’s Hat:
With Homespun Blueberry and J hook ch-4, sl st to form a ring.
RND 1: Ch-1, work 10 sc in ring, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.  (10 sts)
RND 2: (2 sc next st, sc next st) around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.  (15 sts)
RND 3-4: Sc ea st around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.  End row 4 fasten off.
Sew to top of Mrs. Snowman’s head.
Mrs. Snowman’s Apron:
ROW 1: With Homespun Blueberry and J hook ch-4, sc 2nd ch from hook, sc ea ch across, ch-1, turn.  (3 sts)
ROW 2: Sc ea st across, ch-1, turn.
ROW 3: 2 sc 1st st, sc next st, 2 sc last st, ch-1, turn.  (5 sts)
ROW 4: 2 sc 1st st, sc next 3 sts, 2 sc last st, ch-1, turn.  (7 sts)
ROW 5: Sc ea st across, fasten off.
Sew to the front of Mrs. Snowman.
     To hang as ornaments, cut an 8” piece of yarn and pull through a st in the back of either snowman’s head, knot both ends and trim.
