RND 9: Rep rnd 5.  (12 sts)
RND 10-11: Rep rnd 3.
RND 12: Rep rnd 5.  (9 sts)
RND 13-14: Rep rnd 3.
RND 15: (Sc dec next 2 sts, sc next st) around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.  (6 sts)
RND 16: Rep rnd 3.
RND 17: (Sc dec next 2 sts) around, sl st top beg sc, fasten off.  (3 sts)
POM-POM:
With white and J hook ch-6, sl st to form a ring, fasten off.
Sew to end of hat.
BEARD:
ROW 1: With white and J hook ch-3, sc 2nd ch from hook, sc next ch, ch-1, turn.  (2 sts)
ROW 2: 2 sc ea st across, ch-1, turn.  (4 sts)
ROW 3-5: 2 sc next st, sc across to last st, 2 sc last st, ch-1, turn.  (6 sts)(8sts)(10 sts)
ROW 6: Sc ea st across, ch-1, turn.
ROW 7: Sc next st, leave remaining sts unworked, ch-1, turn.  (1 st)
ROW 8-9: Sc next st, ch-1, turn.  At the end of row 9 fasten off.
ROW 10: Join yarn end row 6, ch-1, sc sa st as ch-1, leave remaining sts unworked, ch-1, turn.
ROW 11-12: Sc next st, ch-1, turn.  At the end of row 12 fasten off.
PUTTING IT TOGETHER:
With needle and thread or glue, put the arms tog as follows: stack 1 small white yo-yo and 3 chenille yo-yo tog and secure.  Do this twice.  Do the sa for the legs only using 5 chenille yo-yos.  For the body, stack the 1 lg white yo-yo and 6 chenille body yo-yo tog and secure.  Secure the two legs to the bottom of the body.  Secure the two arms to the body at the sides.
Using the patterns, cut 4 mittens out of green felt.  Glue tog to form 1 set of 2 mittens, leaving an opening at the bottom, stuff.  Glue to Santa, centering the mittens in the white “fur” trim yo-yo.
Cut 4 boots out of black felt.  Finish as you did for the mittens only gluing to the bottom of the Santa’s legs.
Cut an 8 1\2” circle out of flesh colored felt.  Using a needle and thread, sew a running st along the outer edge of the circle.  Pull tight to form a ball.  Stuff firmly and knot to close.  Using permanent markers draw on eyes and nose.
Glue beard to Santa face.  Glue hat to head.
