MATERIALS (FOR BOTH SNOW PEOPLE):  3 oz Lion Brand Jiffy Mohair look yarn in white, Pastel blue and Kitty Hawk, needle to take yarn, size E glass beads in color of your choosing, needle and thread, stuffing, H hook or hook needed to obtain gauge, 2 small fake carrots, black fabric paint, 3 bunches small white flowers (12 ea bunch-found in bridal area), glue and a touch of blush
FINISHED SIZE:  12” (Without hats)
Gauge:  4 sts = 1”, 4 rows of sts = 1”
SNOW WOMAN:
With white yarn and H hook ch-3, sl st to form a ring.
RND 1: Ch-1, work 9 sc in ring, sl st beg sc, ch-1, turn.  (9 sts)  
 RND 2-3: (2 sc next st, sc next 2 sts) around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.  (12 sts)(16 sts)
RND 4: Sc next st, (2 sc next st, sc next 2 sts) around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.  (21 sts)
RND 5-7: Sc ea st around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.
RND 8: Sc next st, (sc dec next 2 sts, sc next 2 sts) around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.  (16 sts)
RND 9: Sc ea st around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.
RND 10: (Sc dec next 2 sts, sc next 2 sts) around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.  (12 sts)
RND 11-12: Rep rnd 9.
RND 13-14: (2 sc next st, sc next st) around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.  (18 sts)(27 sts)
RND 15-17: Rep rnd 9.  At the end of rnd 17, join Pastel Blue and fasten off white.
RND 18: Sc next 10 sts, hdc next st, 2 dc next st, hdc next st, sc next st, hdc next st, 2 dc next st, hdc next st, sc next 10 sts, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.  (29 sts)

DANCE OF THE FIRST SNOW
     Not many people know this, but the snow people made with the season’s first snow come to life at midnight, get dressed in their fanciest clothes and dance until light of a new day.
