Patterns Written in US Terms

MATERIALS:  8 oz. Blue 4 ply Red Heart yarn, 8 oz. White 4 ply Red Heart yarn, 2 oz. Ecru 4 ply Red Heart yarn, G crochet hook or hook needed to obtain gauge, needle to take yarn, glue, felt (for face), and stuffing.
FINISHED SIZE:  Scarf (from pt to pt): approx. 57", doll: 8”  
 Gauge:  2 sc = 1”, 9 rows bk lp sc = 2”, 4 rows sc = 1”
SCARF:
ROW 1:  With G hook and Blue yarn Ch-226, sc 2nd ch from hook, sc ea ch across, join white yarn, fasten off blue, ch-1, turn.  (225 sts)
 ROW 2:  Working the rest of the piece in back loops only, 2 sc next st, sc across, to last st, 2 sc last st, join blue, fasten off white, ch-1, turn. (227 sts)
ROW 3: 2 sc next st, sc across to last st, 2 sc last st, join, white, fasten off blue, ch-1, turn.  (229 sts)
ROWS 4-15: Rep rows 2 and 3 alternating.  End row 15, (253 sts)
ROW 16: Sc ea st across, join blue, fasten off white, ch-1, turn.
ROW 17: Sk 1st st, sc across to last 2 sts, sk next st, sc last st , join white, fasten off blue, ch-1, turn.  (251 sts) ROW 18: SK 1st st, sc across to last 2 sts, sk next st,  sc last st, join blue, fasten off white, ch-1, turn.  (249 sts) ROW 19-31:    Rep row 17 and 18 alternating.  End of row 31 (blue) fasten off.  (223 sts)
DOLL TASSELS (MAKE TWO):
With white yarn and G hook ch-5, sl st to form a ring.
RND 1: Ch-1, 10 sc in ring, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.  (10 sts)
RND 2: (Sc next st, 2 sc next st) around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.  (15 sts)
RND 3-5: Sc ea st around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.  At the end of rnd 5, join Ecru yarn, fasten off white.
RND 6-9: Sc ea st around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.
RND 10: (Skc next st, sc next 2  st) around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.  (10 sts)
RND 11-12: Sc ea st around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.  At the end of rnd 12 join blue, fasten off ecru.
RND 13: 2 sc ea st around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.  (20 sts)
RND 14: (2 sc next st, sc next 3 sts) around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.  (25 sts)
RND 15-24: Sc ea st around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.  At the end of rnd 24, join ecru, fasten off blue.
RND 24: (Sk next  st, sc next 4 sts) around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.  (20 sts)
RND 26-35: Sc ea st around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.  At the end of rnd 35, join blue, fasten off ecru.
RND 36-38: Sc ea st around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn.  Fasten off end rnd 38.
Stuff doll.  Sew bottom closed with blue yarn.  Sew down the middle of the lower portion of doll to define her legs.
