Christening Baby Afghan Free Crochet Pattern

MATERIALS NEEDED:

4 skeins Bernat Softee Brand Baby yarn in white, needle and matching thread, 39” X 44 1\2” piece of white material, pins, one 18’ reel 3\8” white stain ribbon, needle to take ribbon and size G hook or hook to obtain gauge.

GAUGE: Sq = 3 1\2”

FINISHED SIZE: 40” X 46”

BODY:

ROW 1: With white yarn and G hook ch-167, dc 3rd ch from hook, (ch-5, sk 3 ch, dc next ch) twice, * sk 1 ch, 5 trc next ch, sk 1 ch, dc next ch, (ch-5, sk 3 ch, dc next ch) 3 times, rep from * 9 times, sk 1 ch, 5 trc next ch, sk 1 ch, dc next ch, (ch-5, sk 3 ch, dc next ch) twice, turn.

ROW 2: * (ch-5, dc next arch) twice, 5 trc next dc, dc 3rd trc of next 5 trc group, 5 trc next dc, dc next arch, rep from * 10 times ending with ch-5, dc next arch, ch-2, trc last dc, turn.

ROW 3: Ch-2, dc 1st st, sk ch-2, * ch-5, dc next arch, 5 trc next dc, dc 3rd trc of next 5 trc group, ch-5, dc 3rd trc of next 5 trc group, 5 trc next dc, dc next arch, rep from * 10 times, ch-5, dc last arch, turn.

ROW 4: Ch-4 (1st trc), 2 trc same st as ch-4, * dc next arch, 5 trc next dc, dc 3rd trc of next 5 trc group, ch-5, dc next arch, ch-5, dc 3rd trc of next 5 trc group, 5 trc next dc, rep from * 10 times, dc next arch, 3 trc last dc, turn.
