MATERIALS:
4ply yarn in Brown, Cornmeal and Light Sage, size H hook or hook to obtain gauge and a needle to take yarn.
GAUGE: 4 dc =1” 2 rows dc = 1”
FINISHED SIZE: about 11” in diameter
FLOWER’S CENTER:
With Brown yarn and H hook ch-4, sl st to form a ring.
RND 1: Ch-3, work 11 dc in rings, sl st top beg ch-3, turn.  (12 sts)
RND 2: *Ch-6, sl st next st, rep from * around, ch-1, turn.
RND 3:  Press lps to the back of piece, 2 dc ea st around, sl st top beg dc, turn.  (26 sts)
RND 4: Rep rnd 2.
Rnd 5: Press lps to back of piece, (2 dc next st, dc next st) around, sl st top beg dc, turn.  (39 sts)
RND 6: Rep rnd 2.
RND 7: Press lps to back of piece, (2 dc next st, dc next 2 sts) around, sl st top beg dc, turn.  (52 sts)
RND 8: Rep rnd 2.
RND 9: Press lps to back of piece, (2 dc next st, dc next 3 sts) around, sl st top beg dc, turn.  (65 sts)
RND 10: Rep rnd 2.  At the end of rnd 10 fasten off brown.
RND 11: Press lps to back of work and join Cornmeal in any st, ch-3, dc same st as ch-3, (dc next 4 sts, 2 dc next st) around to last 4 sts, dc last 4 sts, sl st top beg ch-3, turn.  (78 sts)
RND 12: Ch-1, dc next 2 sts, (2 dc next st, dc next 3 sts) around, sl st top beg dc, ch-1, turn.  (87 sts)
RND 13: Dc ea st around, sl st top beg dc, ch-1, turn.
RND 14: Dc next 3 sts, (2 dc next st, dc next 4 sts) around, sl st top beg dc, fasten off.  (91 sts)
FLOWER PETAL: measures about 3-1\4” tall (without picot) and 1-3\4” at widest pt
ROW 1: With Cornmeal and H hook ch-9, sc 2nd ch from hook, sc next 4 ch, hdc next ch, 2 dc next 2 ch, turn piece so you are now working the bottom of the foundation ch, 2 dc next ch, hdc next ch, sc next 5 ch, ch-1, turn.  (18 sts)
ROW 2: Sc next 6 sts, hdc next, 2 dc next, 3 trc next, ch-4 sl st in ch-1 of ch-4 (picot made), 3 trc next, 2 dc next, hdc next sc next 6 sts, fasten off.
