PUTTING THE SKIRT TOGETHER:
Please note: each skirt panel has a straight side and a curved side.  They are sewn tog straight side to straight side and curved side to curved side.  Curved side is the panel’s top.
Measure up 15-1\2” (16”){16-1\2”} from bottom of skirt panel.  With needle and yarn sew insert at this point down, you may need to ease the insert a bit as you sew to make it fit.
Mark 15-1\2” (16”){16-1\2”} on the next panel.  Remember straight to straight and curved to curved; sew long edge of the panel to the panel with the insert already sewn to it making sure to match top and bottom edges as well as the point where the insert is suppose to go.  You may need to ease the insert as you sew to make it fit to the panel at the proper point.
Rep this with all the panels and inserts to the point where there is still one long edge to sew tog to form the skirt.

ZIPPER:
Lay the skirt on a flat surface so that the two sides of the skirt, that has yet to be sewn, lay side by side.  With the zipper, measure down from top of skirt to the point where the zipper ends.  Pin from the point down and sew last side seam together.
Again lay the skirt flat and begin at the top of the skirt pin the zipper in place.  With sewing machine or by hand, sew zipper to skirt.

WAISTBAND:
I want to begin this section with an explanation.  My 16-year-old daughter does most of the modeling for my clothes.  When I went to test the sizing for the skirt on her we had a bit of a disagreement about where the waistband of the skirt should go.
Here is what we decided.  Young people, the waistband is at the hip.  Older people (me), the waistband goes around the belly button area.  So there are two ways for making the waistband for this skirt.  Chose whichever you like better.
