MATERIALS NEEDED:
1 skein Bernat Baby Sport in Funny Prints, size F crochet hook or hook to obtain gauge, needle to take yarn, 256 pop tabs total (160 pop tabs for the blocks, 96 pop tabs for the handles), small amount of fabric for lining, sewing needle and sewing thread for lining.
Gauge: 4 hdc = 1”, 3 rows hdc = 1”. Block: 2” square.
FINISHED SIZE: 9-1\2” X 11-1\2” X 3” deep.
FIRST BLOCK (Four tabs needed for each block):
With Prints and F hook ch-3, sl st to form a ring.
RND 1: Ch-1, work 12 hdc in ring, sl st top beg hdc, ch-1, turn. (12 sts)
RND 2: (Ch-4, sk next 2 sts, sl st next st) around, do not turn. (4 lps made)
RND 3: (3 Sc, sc around pop tab, 3 sc) ea lp around, sl st top beg sc, do not turn.
RND 4: (Hdc next st, dc next, trc next, work 8 sc top next pop tab, trc next st, dc next st, hdc next st) around, sl st top beg hdc, fasten off.
JOINING RND:
Rep rnd 1-3 of 1 st block.
RND 4: Hdc next st, dc next, trc next, work 4 sc top next pop tab, sl st top corresponding block’s pop tab, 4 sc sa pop tab, trc next st, dc next st, hdc next st, (Hdc next st, dc next, trc next, work 8 sc top next pop tab, trc next st, dc next st, hdc next st) around, sl st top beg hdc, fasten off.
